"I have worked with Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans multiple times. In 2019, I was a volunteer Teacher, working with children from kindergarten to high school level. In 2022, I was lucky enough to have a full internship for a few months with the organization, which was sponsored by McGill University. During this internship, I worked as an English teacher for students ranging from ages 5-18. I created various lesson plans and modules to be fulfilled over the course of my time teaching. I also worked as an administrative assistant to the organization, aiding in policy and constitutional development at the leadership level and outreach for ongoing projects. I also shadowed the Social Worker, conducting home visits of the families in the organization. I valued my time greatly working with everyone and hold dear my memories working with all the children. I appreciated being able to run swimming lessons at the community pool for all the kids at the organization. Swimming is an important skill, essential for the safety and wellbeing of all students. The day spent at the pool was one of my fondest memory."
